Kadey-Krogen Yachts is proud to share the news that the company will soon turn 40 in 2017, which makes them the oldest manufacturer in the full-displacement pleasure craft business. The privately owned and operated business was founded in 1977 by the late naval architect and designer, James S. Krogen and his business partner Art Kadey. Today, the company is headquartered in Stuart, Florida with additional offices in Seattle, Washington, Annapolis, Maryland and Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Those who have followed Kadey-Krogen Yachts’ progress throughout the decades, know they have designed and built well over 600 beautiful, long-range yachts ranging from 36-58 feet, and now have designs up to 70 feet. Their latest introduction, the Krogen 50’ Open, with its open and continuous salon/galley/pilothouse layout, is just a taste of the continued innovation and blue water novelty still to come from the iconic, salty brand. Not to mention, their continued dedication to growing the cruising lifestyle among boating enthusiasts and across the globe.
“This year and leading into 2017, Kadey-Krogen Yachts is dialed-in and more focused than ever before on the future of our customer, whose desire is to build the ultimate waterfront property,” said Tucker West, Vice President of Sales, Kadey-Krogen Yachts. “We’ve been building such a residence for 40 years, and one that is ocean-capable and built with all the modern comforts.”
To properly honor 40 years in business and to thank their loyal customer base, Kadey-Krogen Yachts is planning their largest corporate rendezvous on record. Next summer (2017), Kadey-Krogens of every size and vintage will chart a course to Newport, Rhode Island to celebrate the anniversary milestone at a four-day, unforgettable celebration beginning Thursday, June 29, 2017. Scheduled for just before Independence Day, it will be the perfect time to cruise New England.

“Forty years spent fine-tuning the most seaworthy yachts and developing the best manufacturing practices, results in a yacht with more solutions–more storage, more layout options, more like home, plus a boat that is easier to handle and easier to maintain,” said Jennifer Burkett, Director of Marketing and PR for Kadey-Krogen Yachts. “As for our next chapter, we are looking forward to what’s to come. We’re one to watch.”
